Annotation to the exhibition "I want to return to the Kuril Islands ..."

MBUK "The South Kuril Local Lore Museum named after F.I. Pyzhyanov" presents an original exhibition of paintings dedicated to the memory of the talented artist from Vladivostok Anna Kopytina "I want to return to the Kuril Islands ...".

The exhibition features more than forty paintings by Anna Kopytina, painted in the style of classical painting in different years and in different artistic techniques - oil, gouache, pastel. Of the works presented, the earliest were written in 2005. These are "Seaside Landscape" and "Border Post in Kunashir." The painting "Fish Factory Workshop Under Construction" was completed by Anna in early 2020.

Anna Kopytina is an interesting, established artist. In childhood, the desire to draw led Anna to art school No. 8, the city of Vladivostok. Here she met her first teacher - Eugene Fomin. It was he who introduced A. Kopytina into the world of art, approved her in the intention to become an artist. Next were the Vladivostok Art Village School (1998 - 2000); The art faculty of the Far Eastern State Academy of Arts (2000 - 2006). At the Department of Painting and Drawing, where Anna studied, the Honored Artist of Russia, Professor of Painting V.A. Goncharenko taught. A. Kopytina Academy graduated with honors (Specialist painter).

The artist has more than 25 exhibitions on her account, including 4 personal ones (2006, 2014, 2017, 2019, p. Yuzhno-Kurilsk). The first author's exhibition "Plein Air. Painting" (2006) and the last "Anna Kopytina. Graphics" (2019) were held within the walls of our museum. Anna Kopytina’s works are in the collection of the FEFU Exhibition Center (Vladivostok), in the funds of our museum, in private collections in Russia and abroad.

This exhibition is a story in colors brought by the artist from trips to the Kuril Islands. Kunashir Island and Shikotan Island are places unusually beautiful and attractive for her. Anna Kopytina has been here many times, friends and connoisseurs of her talent have appeared here. Anna first came to Kunashir in 2005, to collect material for the thesis. Since then, the open air in the Kuril Islands has become an annual, with rare exceptions. The Kuril Islands inspired and admired her. In an interview, she said: - "I really like nature, I really like life here, its plots ..."

Kuril etudes celebrate the amazing nature of the Island Territory, so subtly felt by the artist. Anna's landscapes amaze with the freshness, purity and clarity of colors.

The exposition presents panoramic views of Kunashchir and Shikotan, cozy streets of villages, marine motifs, working rhythms of the fishing industry, still lifes. Of interest are also works in the technique of woodcut (a type of woodcut). Anna Kopytina's paintings are well recognizable, the artist had a bright, individual style of writing, which distinguishes her work from many artists.
